Hall Brook Farm is owned and operated by Pheonix and Megan O’Brien. Together, we grow about 8 acres of MOFGA certified organic mixed vegetables and 2-3 acres of dry beans. We primarily rely on the help of our three draft horses for all of our field work and cultivation. We also have some cows, just for fun.
We farm organically for the health of our land, the health of ourselves and for the health of the people we feed. We love our little piece of land and want it to keep producing nutritious food for generations to come! We use cover cropping, crop rotation and organic fertilizers and manure to produce high quality, nutrient dense vegetables.
In 2016 we purchased our own farm, just up the road from where we had been leasing for three years prior. The farm had, up until our purchase, been in the Berry family since the early 1800’s. They milked Guernsey cows under the name Hall Brook Farm.
